More about classes

We have classes to suit everybody at Ki-atsu Yoga - whether newcomers to Yoga or experienced practitioners.  Some classes will be more suitable for beginners, or for people who'd like a slower, more therapeutic type of Yoga.

Ki-atsu Yoga with Kerry

Kerry's classes offer a little more than just a Yoga class.  Each class incorporates some hands-on Shiatsu techniques - helping to release a tense back, neck and shoulders. There is often a focus on breathing techniques and meditation.  You'll learn some self-acupressure points to ease common complaints such as headaches, backache, fatigue or anxiety.  Her classes are a great balance of both body strengthening and tension releasing techniques.  People who attend Kerry's classes find different benefits, whether its easing backache, coping with stress, or just feeling better generally.   (Some testimonials).

Yin Yoga with Michele

Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with postures, or asanas, that are held for longer periods of time, usually two to eight minutes. The poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body — the tendons, fascia, and ligaments — with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility.

Suitable for almost all levels of students, Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to all dynamic sport including muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Sport, Injury and age can decrease flexibility in the joints, Yin yoga is a wonderful way to maintain that flexibility.
